Archax is a regulated digital asset exchange, broker, and custodian, based in the UK, EU and US. In January 2026, it made UK banking history with Lloyds. Lloyds Bank issued tokenized sterling deposits on the Canton Network, and Lloyds Bank Corporate Markets used them to buy a tokenized UK gilt issued by Archax, the country's first public blockchain transaction with tokenized deposits. After the trade, funds moved straight back into a standard Lloyds account.
An FCA-regulated venue's first UK trade on a new network leaves no room for infrastructure surprises. Archax connected to Canton and made the trade. The story is much bigger than the node.
